Real Time Data

Hourly averaged meteorological data for the current deployment of the Stratus buoy are recieved via Service Argos four times daily. Preliminary data is displayed in unedited form as time series and is available for download as ASCII files.

A note on resolution, and one on data formats.

Stratus XII

The twelfth Stratus buoy was deployed at about 19°S, 85°W from the R.V. Melville (MV-12-07) on 2012/05/2013 at 22:03 UTC. System 1, Lgr SN 1, stopped transmitting on 2013/12/1 after a period of low throughput; on that system, wind was blanked beginning on 2013/07/11. System 2, Lgr SN 2, stopped transmitting on 2013/09/24; on that system, data from the SBE37-sst was blocked beginning on 2012/08/11.
The Stratus 12 buoy went adrift on about 2014/01/25. The buoy and 2 near-surface instruments were recovered on 2014/03/03; the lower portion was recovered on 2014/03/08.

Stratus XIII

The thirteenth Stratus buoy was deployed at about 19°S, 85°W from the NOAA ship Ronald H Brown on March 7, 2012,at 18:01 UTC.

Meteorology

Stratus meteorological data is also available from the National Data Buoy Center as Partner Platform 32ST0.
