Current Projects
The primary focus of the Upper Ocean Processes Group is the study of physical processes in the upper ocean and at the air-sea interface using moored surface buoys equipped with meteorological and oceanographic sensors.
Current projects include surface mooring deployments under the stratus cloud deck in the eastern tropical Pacific (Stratus) and a collaborative site 100 km north of Oahu at the WHOI Hawaii Ocean Time-series Site (WHOTS). Recently completed is a long-term mooring in the trade wind region of the northwest tropical Atlantic (NTAS).
